Uncovering the Causes of Abnormal Temperature Rise in Vacuum Circuit Breakers
2025-10-20 09:53:08

Abnormal temperature rise is a critical factor affecting the performance and safety of vacuum circuit breakers (VCBs).

First, overloading is one of the main causes of increased temperature. When the load exceeds the design capacity, the current generates additional heat. Additionally, poor internal contacts can cause localized heating, and prolonged operation under such conditions will lead to higher overall temperatures. Ensuring good contact conditions is therefore a key measure to prevent abnormal temperature rise.

Second, environmental factors can also impact temperature. High ambient temperatures and poor ventilation exacerbate equipment heating. Moreover, improper installation and external short-circuit faults can also cause the device to overheat.

Understanding these causes helps in implementing effective monitoring and maintenance strategies, ensuring the Safe Operation of Vacuum Circuit Breakers.
